National Jeep Wave Day 05/07/12

It’s been decided, the first national Jeep Wave Day will be May 7, 2012.  So how’d we choose that day? First off, credit to one of our facebook fans, Missy, from www.Trailmods.com who suggested it.  Now the details:

–  May is the fifth month of the year and you often do the Jeep Wave with 5 fingers…so that’s how we start.

–  The 7th day of May pays homage to the seven slot grille that defines the Jeep brand.

–  So long as the world doesn’t end in 2012, we’ll have our first national Jeep Wave day on May 7th, 2012 to honor thy Jeep and recognize the drivers who share the love.

Hopefully you can help spread the word.  Tell your friends.  Share the news on facebook and twitter.  Help us pass out fliers as the time approaches. Dealerships need to know about this too so it can be a success.

Thanks and keep on waving.

Jeep Names

Came across this the other day in the local paper and couldn’t believe my eyes. The kid’s name is Jeep. How cool is that? Just curious if anyone out there actually knew anybody named Jeep?

Perhaps a better question, do you have a name for your Jeep? I’m sure there are some great ones out there, so let us hear em in the comments below!

Jeep Wabi-Sabi

The Japanese have a term for the pleasing decay of objects: “Wabi-sabi.”

Cup.

Statue.

Jeep.

Ultimately, wabi sabi is about imperfection, impermanence, and incompleteness…which sounds a lot like buying and driving a Jeep. Always searching for that next big modification. Waiting for the moment something breaks on the trail when you’re having a little too much fun.

Unlike most cars, Jeep drivers understand their ride will never be the same as it was sitting new on the showroom floor. It gets those “character marks” from rocks, trees, and whatever else we can figure to put it through, over, or into. Jeep Waves are no exception, they only get better with time.

How has “Wabi-sabi” affected your Jeep?

New Jeep in the Family

Very pleased to welcome a new ride in the Jeep Waves family. We recently picked up a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee and we love it so far. It got us thinking as we drove around waving at other jeeps that it’s important to keep your eyes peeled for non-wrangler, non-lifted Jeeps that have passionate Jeepers behind the wheel. Just because it doesn’t look like it’s ready to go rock crawling doesn’t mean it doesn’t deserve a wave. Happy Jeepin!
